Ethel Atkins was no different from any other parent she just wanted to nurture and protected her children. But for some reason her son Michael seem to perceive this as being too restrictive, and overwhelming. Taking every opportunity to assert his independence much to her annoyance. Which shouldn't have surprised her, since, she herself was a strong-minded individual.
For Michael and his friends, the desolate bombed wastelands where their playgrounds. Filled with tall scraggly wild grass, patches of knee-deep dock leaves, small bushes, and potholes allowing for all kinds of adventures. With each of Michaels escapades confrontation between mother and son increase, causing mayhem for all in the process.
