Description

Janet Evanovich’s #1 New York Times bestselling sensation Stephanie Plum returns in her twenty-forth thriller as mutilated corpses litter the streets of New Jersey...

Trouble comes in bunches for Stephanie Plum. First, professional grave robber and semi-professional loon, Simon Diggery, won’t let her take him in until she agrees to care for his boa constrictor, Ethel. Stephanie’s main qualification for babysitting an extremely large snake is that she owns a stun gun—whether that’s for use on the wandering serpent or the petrified neighbors remains to be seen.

Events take a dark turn when headless bodies start appearing across town. At first, it’s just corpses from a funeral home and the morgue that have had the heads removed. But when a homeless man is murdered and dumped behind a church Stephanie knows that she’s the only one with a prayer of catching this killer.

If all that’s not enough, Diesel’s back in town. The 6-foot-tall, blonde-haired hunk is a man who accepts no limits—that includes locked doors, closed windows and underwear. Trenton’s hottest cop, Joe Morelli isn’t pleased at this unexpected arrival nor is Ranger, the high-powered security consultant who has his own plans for Stephanie.

As usual Jersey’s favorite bounty hunter is stuck in the middle with more questions than answers. What’s the deal with Grandma Mazur’s latest online paramour? Who is behind the startling epidemic of mutilated corpses? And is the enigmatic Diesel’s sudden appearance a coincidence or the cause of recent deadly events?

Although the series is always predictable I usually enjoy the Plum series but this one was awful. Too predictable, boring, just not an enjoyable read.

I waited with great expectations for this book, very disappointing , I also agree this book was written by 2 different people. And talking to a few “real book stores” even the mangers agree.

WAY light. Hardly worth bothering. I usually enjoy Stephanie Plum, but zombies? This book was just dumb. The author just didn't even try to create a plot. Sorry I bought it. Refund, please.

I love Stephanie Plum books and find them imaginative, chock full of wonderful characters and zany, thoroughly enjoyable, plots. This one felt strange - less layered than the others and less satisfying. And I agree with those who feel Diesel should stay between the numbers. I'm stunned to be left feeling vaguely unsatisfying. Overall, feels very rushed. Perhaps because she writes 2 other series now.

Hardcore Twenty-four had so much material from the other books that I felt like I read half a book. After all these episodes Stephanie has shown no ability to recognize how much she is being taken advantage of by Morelli. Is she going to ever mature mentally? Ranger hit it on the head in 23 when he told her Moewlli was taking advantage of her and yet she shows no sign of doing a thing about it. The best gumption she ever had was working for Ranger. She has done her job long enough that she should be growing her character. My humble opinion. I do love the numbers books.

Back to her tenuous methods of capturing FTAs, Stephanie Plum rocks the world of Trenton New Jersey fighting zombies, loving her men and guarding a boa. Lula helps in her misguided manner, always ready to run or gun down the enemy. This 24th novel is another great read from the talented Janet Evanovich. Delightful!

I love the Stephanie Plum character and the New Jersey setting. The storyline was quirky, amusing and contemporary. Can't wait for the next book!

I like the Plum books but I would like to see more of Stephanie and Joseph. Maybe they could go on a vacation together. Anytime Diesel comes to visit is great. He really belongs to Lizzy and Carl but maybe he and Stephanie could have more adventures together.

Some of the book seemed tired but any book that can make me laugh out loud is one I will buy and I do every time I read one of these.

I love the Stephanie plumb series. That being said this one did not have an interesting plot line or as many funny lines. If you are tired of zombie story lines I'd skip this one.
